B1 Preliminary (PET)

B1 Preliminary (PET) is considered one of the Cambridge English Qualifications. Having B1 Preliminary qualification proves that you have mastered the basics of English language. B1 Preliminary English exams are based on 2 (two) forms, the candidates can choose to take either paper-based or computer-based. The qualification stands between A2 Key and B2 First in candidates’ language learning. B1 preliminary (PET) is accepted worldwide. One of the main advantages of taking B1 preliminary is that it will be help candidates to enhance their ability to read simple books and articles in English.

Format
The exam is made up of 3 stages (Listening, Reading and Writing and Speaking).

Reading and Writing: 1 hour 30 minutes
Listening: 36 minutes including 6 minutes' transfer time
Speaking: 10–12 minutes per pair of candidates

Results
• Results for paper-based exams are available between seven and nine weeks after and five to six weeks for computer-based exams the date of your exam.
• All candidates receive a Statement of Results, and if you are successful in the exam you will also receive a Certificate.
